Soccer Football game

Our soccer football game, what a start. Pt England's very own soccer team had played against Saint Kentigern Pakuranga school. I was the only girl in our soccer football team. Our game started at 1:30pm at lunch time and the people in the team were Benjamin, Josh, John Lee, David, Zane, Stevenson, Zack, Lorenzo, Hendrix and myself as well and also our coach Matua Lewin.

Matua Lewin was the ref for our game. There were 11 on the field and 2 sub. *Whistle* and the game starts. We start off and so we spread out, "1,2" shouts Zane. He passes it to Lorenzo and Lorenzo is targeted by one of the Saint Kentigern's team mate. He passes back to Zane but then Zane lost the ball. Chris is part of Saint Kentigern's team. He has the ball and John lee is goalie, and John lee needs to focus on the ball.

*Kick* Chris kicks the ball into their goal and so they get a point. John Lee had bad luck this time so he swapped with Hendrix and so he became goalie. It was already half time so Matua Lewin our coach had to get us more focused into the game. We had a drink of water and had to calm ourselves down and *Whistle* the whistle blows and the second round begins.

We had no strategy and had forgot to plan one, but anyway we tried our best. Saint Kentigerns had got 2 penalty kicks. After running around, doing soccer tricks, defending and being goalie we had lost by 3 points. It was a good game after all and so we did our chants and shaked hands after our chants. Saint Kentigerns Pakuranga school was a great team to compete against

Cross Country

WALT: show not tell.
The day has come our school cross country. My body was quivering and my head heating up as if it was going to burst into flames. I breathe in and out trying to calm myself down.
I felt like I was going to melt as my legs were not powerful enough to hold myself up.

At the start line I am ready in my position to run. I feel like a panther ready to attack my prey and the others are too. “ Clap” and were off. We run and run as if our prey as gotten away. The other girls run like they are having a race to have each other's territory.

How our muscles work

You are probably thinking now how our muscles need to work, what makes them function. Your journey starts here. Read on for more about “How our MUSCLES work.”

The way our muscles work is that our Tendons are cords made of tough tissue, they work as special connector pieces between bone and muscle. The tendons are attached so well that when you contract one of your muscles, the tendon and bone move along with it. Skeletal muscles come in many different sizes and shapes to allow them to do many types of jobs.

Did you know you have more than 600 muscles in your body? They do everything from pumping blood throughout your body to helping you lift your heavy backpack. You control some of your muscles, while others like your heart do their jobs without you thinking about them at all.
The strong and prolonged contraction of a muscle during exercise causes sooner or later muscle fatigue. Fatigue increases while the glycogen stored in the muscles decreases. Muscle fatigue is something you get often when you exercise.
So that is how our muscles work and what it takes and needs to function. Click here to check out more information about how our muscles work

Return of Saia and Gabriel

The return of Saia and Gabriel was great, they talked about their highlights in Silicon valley. They had traveled to all of the different app company in the United states of America (USA). Google, Twitter, Xero, Facebook, Apple, Stanford Uni, Book track, Yelp, Android and a lot more. Gabriel and Saia had also went to the worlds most famous and secured prison in the world, Alcatraz. Alcatraz had have 3 prisoners escape and had to be shut down. Gabriel told team 5 and I about their experience at all the different companies and what they did.

They also did a bean boozled challenge and that was Gabriel's funniest part. Saia's funniest part was when they were on the bus and the boys were just singing and talking. Some of their proud moments were representing our country at each company and being able to speak in front of famous company founders.

They shared their favorite part about their trip and how they felt. They were two lucky college students to attend this amazing trip to Silicon valley. They told us " We had the chance to go on this dream trip and so could you in 3 years time. " just believe and you could be us in this position some time.

Gabriel and Saia inspired us and told us there goals and it should be ours. They also went on the golden gate bridge, to Instagram, Microsoft and kiwi landing pad.  It was coming to an end of Saia's and Gabriel's talk, we had the chance to ask them any question about the journey. They were motivating us. Gabriel is a former Pt England student and Saia is a former Glenn brae student. It was an all expenses paid trip so that means that it was a free trip.

Most of team 5 and I would like to go on a trip to Silicon valley. Gabriel said "you never know when you might get the chance to have something like this." That speech right there brought us all to thinking about us and imagining a picture of ourselves on a trip like that. Here are some photos of them talking.

This is some info about there prisoners who escaped. Investigators concluded that John Anglin , Clarence Anglin and Frank Morris died trying to make their way across San Francisco Bay in a raft made out of raincoats, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Clint Eastwood played the mastermind Morris in the 1979 film about their quest, “Escape from Alcatraz.”

The BFG

Last term our literacy teacher Mr Wiseman read to us the BFG by Roald Dahl. Yesterday our class went to watch the recently released BFG movie.  The movie about the BFG was fantastic. It hooked my classmates and I in just like a book. It had more gruesome words and details. The movie was incredible and stunned as all. More parts were added which was really cool.

The movie was different to the book because some parts in the movie weren't actually in the book. There were parts like another human being had recently gone to giant country with the BFG and was also the first human there. The other aggressive giants went to a deserted island, instead of a huge hole.

My favorite character was the BFG because his personality was great. He was kind, risky, helpful, caring and loyal. He was a bit disgusting eating snozzcumber which was a green looking cucumber. The BFG was like a ninja, he could camouflage like a light on the streets, trees out in forest and covered construction stuff on a truck.

My favorite part of the movie was when the BFG, Sophie and the army forces had gotten rid of those 9 aggressive giants that would eat human's. All thanks to the BFG and Sophie the world was human eating giants free. Now the world could rest in peace from mean giants. The names of the giants were The Fleshlumpeater, The Bonecruncher, The Manhugger, The Childchewer, The Meatdripper, The Gizzardgulper, The Maidmasher, The Bloodbottler, and The Butcher Boy.

The BFG was a kind-hearted giant who cared about humans and wanted to make the children of the world happy.

How the Olympics came to be

How the Olympics came to be
You might be asking why the Olympics are still going on, what is it for and when did it start. Read on for more details.

The creator of the Olympics is a Greek mythology king Pelops.

He is the king of Pisa. They would have these events in to honor there gods like Zeus. Normally 50,000 people would watch and 10-15 competitors would compete.

It started in Olympia, Greece back in 1864 2700 years ago. They would lite torches to honor Zeus. They would have a temple for Zeus and a massive gold statue of him right in the middle. Some would die and some would be injured but it was all part of there version of the Olympics.

Women then weren't aloud to compete or else they would of been slaughtered and thrown of a cliff into a swirl pool. It was a sacrifice for there gods. There was boxing/sparing, sprinting, jumping. There was only sprinting at first and the judges were bored, so they added more activities.

All of this was then but now it's different. Women are aloud to compete and there are even more activities played now. Before there were only 10-15 people competing, but now there are 204 countries competing and over 11,000 athletes.
